Barbecue season is here, time to fire up the BBQ and get grilling. We love to grill meat during the summer, my husband is famous for his many marinades, full of flavour. I have compiled a list of some of our favourites. Please leave your own recipes and links below thanks…and enjoy.

Marinades for chicken and turkey
Lemon marinade
1/2lb.Butter
1/2tsp.Sage
1/4tsp.Poultry Seasoning
1/2tsp.Celery Salt
2tbsp.Lemon Juice
1/4tsp.Pepper
1/2tsp.Onion Salt
Roll the chicken or turkey in Lawry salt first. Melt butter and add the rest of the ingredients in a bowl. Pour over the chicken. Bake or grill on med heat turn regularly.
Soy garlic marinade
1/2cupSalad Oil
1/4cupSoy Sauce
2Tbsp.Ketchup
1Tbsp.Vinegar
1/4 tsp Pepper
2clovesGarlic, Minced
Mix ingredients and marinade meat for 2-4 hours. Turning meat occasionally making sure all the meat is coated.
Refrigerate while marinating.
Hawaiian marinade

1/4cupSoy Sauce
1/4tspGarlic Powder
This is very simple - mix together all your ingredients, pour over your chicken and let it marinade overnight at least.
Cook as you see fit, and for a fancy presentation garnish with pineappleHoney mustard

Sweet and sour
1cupSoy Sauce
½cupFirmly Packed Brown Sugar
½cupWhite Vinegar
1/2cupPineapple Juice
1tspGarlic Powder
2tsp.Salt
Combine the soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, pineapple juice, garlic powder and salt in a container. Boil the mixture in a pan.
Options #1 Let cool and marinate meat for 1-3 hours, baste remainder on meat as it cooks. #2 Cook meat first and use as serving sauce.
Raspberry marinade
3cup.Fresh Raspberries
1cup.Raspberry Vinegar
3/4cup.Olive Oil
2tbsp.Fresh Thyme
Mix the raspberries and the vinegar. Allow to boil for about 1 minute. Add in the remaining ingredients. Pour the mixture onto the meat and marinate overnight. Grill the meat. Baste in occasionally with the marinate. Good for 4-6 serving.
Cajun marinade
3cupDry Red Wine (white For Chicken Or Lamb)
1cupOlive Or Peanut Oil
2tbsp.Wine Vinegar
1tsp.Garlic Powder
2tsp.Onion Powder
2tsp.Salt
3tbsp.Grey Poupon Mustard
3tbsp.Horseradish
3tbsp.Lime Juice
2tbsp.Cayenne Pepper
Mix in all the ingredients in a blender. Allow the meat to sit in the mixture for about 3 hours.
Basic marinade beef
1 1/2cup.Salad Oil
3/4cup.Soy Sauce
4tbsp.Worcestershire Sauce
2tbsp.Dry Mustard
2tbsp.Salt
1/2cup.Wine Vinegar
2tsp.Dried Parsley Flakes
2clovesCrushed Garlic
2tsp.Coarse Pepper
1/3cup.Lemon Juice
Mix all the ingredients. Makes 3 cups of marinate. Ideal for chicken or steak.
Best dry rub for beef..
1/3cup.Kosher Salt
1/3cup.Brown Sugar
2tbsp.Garlic Powder
2tbsp.Paprika
1tbsp.Dried Thyme
1tsp.Cayenne Pepper
1tsp.Freshly Ground Pepper
Mix all the ingredients. Rub the mixture on the meat. Let it stand for 2 hours, or refrigerate overnight. Grill.

Honey garlic
1/4cupHoney
1/4cupLemon Juice
2clovesGarlic, Minced
2tbspLight Soy Sauce
1tbspDry Sherry
Combine all ingredients and pour over pork. Cover and marinate in refrigerator for 4 to 24 hours.
Apple marinade pork
6 Lean Pork Chops
2/3c. Apple Juice
1/3c. Veg. Oil
1/4c. Fresh Lemon Juice
1 clove Garlic (minced)
2 tbsp. Dried Savory
1 tsp Salt
Combine apple juice, oil, lemon juice, onion, savory and salt in glass dish large enough to contain pork chops in one layer. Coat the meat and let marinate, cover for at least 6 hours (turn occasionally). Grill chops basting them with marinade, for 20 minutes on each side. Serve with 1 teaspoon apple jelly on each
Fajita style marinade (Pork, Beef or chicken)
1/2c Onions, Chopped
1/2c Olive Oil
1/3c Red Wine Vinegar
1 tsp Oregano
½ tsp Salt
½ tsp Pepper
2/3c Lime Juice
3 Cloves Garlic, Pressed Or Well Chopped
¼ tsp. Cumin
1 1/2 to 2lbs.Meat
Mix all the ingredients. Pour mixture and the meat in a bowl. Marinate meat for 4-8 hours or overnight for best results.
Southern style marinade
1/4cupPrepared Salsa
2tbspChopped Cilantro
2tbspLime Juice
1tbspOlive Oil
1cloveGarlic, Chopped
1/4tspGround Cumin
Combine all ingredients in a bowl, stirring until well blended. Brush on meat and marinate for 1 hour use remainder to brush on while grilling.
Peanut Marinade
1/2cupPeanut Oil
1/4cupWhite Wine Vinegar
1/4cupTamari (see Note)
1/4cupFresh Lemon Juice
4clovesGarlic (minced)
8Cilantro Springs (minced)
1Red Chili Pepper
2tsp.Chopped Ginger
Combine all the ingredients in a blender or food processor. Blend well to emulsify, adding a few drops of water if the mixture is too thick. Marinate beef or chicken overnight. 2 cups.
NOTE: Tamari is a strong soy sauce found in Asian and specialty markets. Use soy sauce if tamari is unavailable
Maple syrup marinade
1/2CupBrown Sugar
1/4CupMaple Syrup
1CupWater
1TbspOil
1/2CupBourbon
Combine all ingredients together. Place meat in container. Pour marinade over it - covering meat completely. Leave the meat marinated for 4-8 hours, or overnight for best results…
